The suspect in the murderous terrorist attack in Toulouse has stopped contact with police, French officials said Wednesday. The suspect, 24-year-old Mohammed Merah, had previously spoken to officers and had said he would turn himself in later in the day.

Merah is known to be heavily armed. Police hope to take him alive.
