The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange was slightly down after the first few minutes of trading on Tuesday. The TA Composite index stood at 1,005.91, down .04 percent, while the same percentage decline meant a posting of 1018.85 for the TA 100, including a .16 percent drop to 1,108.11 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
While most of the technology stocks rose an average of .52 percent to 317.82, the biomed index slipped .09 percent to 717.88. The oil and natural-gas issues stood at 1,229.39, up .47 percent and the real estate stocks rose .34 percent to 281.49. With the insurance index declining .03 percent to 974.16, the financial institutions stood at 900.48, also down .03 percent, despite a .43 percent decline to 990.57 by the bank issues. The communications/media index fell seven tenths of a percent to 638.59.
