Defense Minister Ehud Barak is flying to Germany, Tuesday morning for a 48-hour working visit, returning a visit by Germany's Thomas de Maiziere to Israel. In addition to meeting with his counterpart, he will hold meetings with Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and other high-ranking officials. Among the major issues to be discussed are the Middle East in general and the Iranian nuclear threat in particular.
Barak will also discuss expansion of ties between the two defense establishments. He will also look at two submarines that Israel has purchased and discuss procurement of a sixth submarine. His return is scheduled for Thursday morning.
