Israeli diplomatic officials were up in arms Monday night over comments by European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton, who compared the four Jews killed outside a synagogue in Toulouse, France – three of them children – with the deaths of children in Gaza. “When we think about what happened today in Toulouse, we remember what happened in Norway last year, we know what is happening in Syria, and we see what is happening in Gaza and other places,” Ashton said in an interview.

“Against all odds,” she said, “they continue to learn, work, dream, and seek a better life for themselves and their children in Gaza.”
