Peres Wishes Iranians New Year, New Government

President Shimon Peres recorded a special interview, Monday, to be broadcast, Tuesday, to Kol Yisrael's Persian service and to be posted on his Youtube channel, in which he greeted the people of Iran on the occasion of the New Year's holiday of Nuruz. It included a traditional greeting in Parsi, accompanied with a wish that the holiday be real and not simulated, where Iranians could taste the taste of freedom.

During the interview, he said it was not too late for Iranians to change the corrupt regime and return to their great traditions, adding that those traditions did not include bombs and missiles. He cited the Iranian leadership for its extremism, blindness and hate, noting that its investment in nuclear development is at the expense of the country's poor.
