70 Kollel Students Trained for National Service

The first group of 70 adult yeshiva students to finish training for the "Respect Elders" National Volunteer Service program received certificates of completion last Thursday. Another 130 are expected to complete their training by the end of the year.

Under the program, established a year ago, the students go the homes of senior citizens and help them with day-to-day living, not only with help around the home but preparing to deal with authorities -with or without help present. At the end of their volunteer service, they will be able to use the skills they learned to enter the private job market in fields related to senior care.
