Modest to moderate gains were posted, Sunday, at the close of trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The TA Composite index rose half a percent to 1,007.68, while the TA 100 closed at 1,020.86, up .52 percent, including a .38 percent advance to 1,113.86 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The insurance stocks led the way, rising 1.75 percent to 981.36, as the financial institutions finished the first day of the trading week at 903.54, up one percent, including a .76 percent rise to 996.30 by the banking index. Most of the technology index gained an average of 1.3 percent to 316.38, while the biomed issues closed at 717.05, up .26 percent. The real estate stocks advanced 1.05 percent to 282.01 and the oil and natural gas index finished the day at 1,215.91, up .48 percent, while the communications/media index rose .42 percent to 650.30.
