MK Plesner: PM Buried Trajtenberg's Only Selling Point

Member of Knesset Yochanan Plesner (Kadima) reacted to Sunday's approval by the cabinet of housing recommendations in the Trajtenberg Commission on Socio-economic Reform by saying "Today, Prime Minister [Binyamin] Netanyahu buried Professor [Manuel] Trajtenberg's only selling point for good." The recommendations are supposed to put 187,000 housing unit on the market over the next few years and increase assistance to renters.

Plesner called the recommendations "partial and insufficient to begin with, and today, the government decided to remove the section on earning power, the only principle that was intended to ensure that the state will help, first and foremost, those who chose to help themselves." He also cited the Yisrael Beiteinu party for abandoning the middle class and said Kadima would offer an alternative in the coming weeks.
