Prime Minister Salam Fayyad of the Palestinian Authority said, Thursday that "Jordan is Jordan and Palestine is Palestine" and that the "Palestinian people" will never give up their right to an independent state on their national soil, according to a report by Jordan's Petra news agency, reviewed by Independent Meida Review and Analysis.

The declaration came during a meeting with high Jordanian parliamentarian delegation to Ramallah, led by Lower House Speaker Abdul Karim al-Dughmi. Al Dughmi said, "The Israeli arrogance and brutal siege, which turned the Palestinian territories into a big prison, will not weaken the resolve and steadfastness of the Palestinian people in confronting the occupation."
