IMA Votes Against Integrating Arbel

The central committee of the Israeli Medical Association decided on Thursday, through a vote, that the new physicians’ organization Arbel will not be able to become an organization within the IMA. 46 members supported the decision, eight opposed and three abstained.

The central committee’s decision was reached after its members received the impression that allowing Arbel to integrate into the IMA would weaken the doctors and impair their ability to continue to struggle for more appropriate working conditions, fair wages and conditions.
