Israel Prepared for Emergency from Arab Countries
The Israeli governments is preparing for the possibility of an emergency airlift of Jewish residents of Arab countries. Member of Knesset Danny Danon spoke to the Knesset Committee for Immigration and Absorption about the issue on Wednesday. He stated, "the purpose of Israel's existence is to be the home of the Jewish people. We must be alert and ready for change and extract the Jews from Arab countries who need our help".
Israeli government statistics show that 130 Jewish people live in Yemen, 2,500 in Morocco, 30 in Syria and 20,000 in Iran.
