Rabbi Binyamin Edery, the Chabad emissary in Tokyo, has been honored for his work on behalf of survivors of last year’s deadly tsunami. Rabbi Edery worked to assist survivors from the beginning, and has continued to visit the most heavily impacted areas every week.
Many people, both Jewish and non-Jewish, have grown closer to Judaism since the disaster, he told Arutz Sheva.
