An alert Israeli police officer thwarted a stabbing attempt at the Tzomet Zif intersection near Hevron on Tuesday. During a routine inspection, a resident of the Palestinian Authority pulled out a knife and tried to stab a police officer. The officer responded by pushing the attacker. The suspect was arrested and taken in for questioning. The suspect was identified as a resident of the PA controlled community of Al Samoa-Simya.
