Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted moderate to modest gains in the opening minutes of trading on Tuesday. The TA Composite index stood at 981.94, up .76 percent while the TA 100 rose eight tenths of a percent to 994.33, including a .79 percent rise to 1,081.75 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the way were the oil and gas stocks at 1,165.99, up 1.46 percent, followed by the insurance index, which rose 1.13 percent to 930.33, as the financial institutions opened at 833.64, up 1.06 percent, including a 1.08 percent rise to 909.42 by the bank stocks. The real estate issues stood at 275.30, also up 1.06 percent, while most of the technology index rose .84 percent to 301.39. The biomed stocks stood at 714.99, up .22 percent and the communications/media issues rose .59 percent to 628.57
