UN Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon on Monday called for a cessation of violence in southern Israel. Ban said that he was “very worried” over the increased tension in the region. “The citizens are the ones paying the high price,” Ban said. “The firing of rockets must end immediately. I call on Israel to act with restraint.”
Ban made the comments before a meeting of the UN Security Council on Libya and the Middle East.
