Aharonovitch: Reaction to Rockets Must be Sharp

Public Safety Minister Yitzchak Aharonovitch said, Monday morning, that Israel's reaction to rocket fire originating in Gaza must be sharp and that action must be taken to end the intolerable situation in the south. Interviewed by Kol Yisrael government radio, he said you cannot keep a million people in shelters for four days.

Aharonovitch added that the decision on how to end the rocket fire - ground or air attack - should be left to the policy makers and the military. He stressed that Hamas was elected to lead in Gaza and must order a cease fire.
