Modest to sharp increases were reported on most of the indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange at the end of a mixed day of trading Sunday. The TA Composite index rose .56 percent to 982.13, while the TA 100 closed at 994.32, up .62 percent, including a .48 percent advance to 1,084.75 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Most of the technology stocks jumped an average of 2.12 percent to 299.49, while the biomed index finished the day at 716.78, up .77 percent, and the oil and natural gas issues rose .92 percent to 1,171.82. With bank stocks slipping .02 percent to 906.15, the financial institutions fell three tenths of a percent to 827.64, including a .93 percent drop to 921.23 by the insurance index. Real estate stocks closed at 272.89, down .14 percent, and the communications/media issues declined .99 percent to 637.67.
