Egyptian reports Sunday said that Egypt was consulting with Hamas in order to restore quiet in the south. The report said that Hamas had asked Gaza terror groups involved in the rocket fire, especially Islamic Jihad, to restore quiet to the area. The cease fire would take effect within 48 hours, the report said.
Speaking in an interview Sunday morning, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that Hamas was responsible for the missile firing from Gaza, and that Israel must hold the terror group directly responsible for the rocket fire, regardless of which group takes responsibility for it.
