Speaking at Sunday morning's cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that Israel was prepared for all eventualities resulting from the increase in tension in southern Israel, including possible terrorist attacks by Gaza Arab terrorists. “On Friday, a major terrorist was eliminated while he was in the midst of preparing a major terrorist attack against Israel on our southern border with Egypt. There is no doubt that the IDF's activity prevented this attack. The IDF hit them hard, and I wish to praise the army and security forces for their work.”
With that, Netanyahu said, the army and all Israelis must be prepared for further attacks. “We are taking all the necessary steps to ensure safety and security, but we also plan to take offensive action when necessary. I have no doubt that with this combination we will succeed in overcoming the threats that surround us,” he added.
