Lebanon-Syria Bridge Blown Up

A bridge used by Syrians to escape government violence to Lebanon was blown up, Thursday, as the Damascus offensive against the city of Homs continued. Thousands had used the bridge near Kosiir in recent days and the United States had put out a call, rejected by the Beirut government, to protect all unarmed Syrians who crossed the border.

Turkish officials said the numbers crossing the border into Turkeyh in recent days was three times the February rate. Jordan is also worried about a flood of Syrian refugees, having absorbed about 73,000 of them since the unrest rose to prominence, about a year ago.
