At Least 56 Killed in Syria

At least 56 people were killed, Thursday, in clashes throughout Syrian between security forces loyal to President Bashar Al-Assad and opponents of the Damascus regime. Three were killed in the capital while at least 47 died in the northern city of Homs, according to the Cable News Network.The funeral of the three who were shot to death in Damascus turned into a demonstration against the president.

Violent clashes were also reported in the northern city of Idlib, and in Hamah, where about 50 youths were arrested in a military operation. Intense fighting was also reported between government troops and the Free Syrian Army in the village of Izaz on the Turkish border.
