Report: Over 8,000 Dead in 1 Year of Syrian Civil War
Reports say that a total of 8,458 people have been killed in Syria since the the beginning of the uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad in March of 2011. The data was provided by Rami Abdel Rahman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights organization which is based in the United Kingdom to Agence France-Presse news. They reported that 6,195 civilians, 1,835 military and police personnel and 428 anti-Assad soldiers were killed.
