There were more gainers than losers in the opening minutes of trading, Monday at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The TA Composite index stood at 994.60, up six percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,006.18 for the TA 100, as the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues rose a tenth of a percent to 1,099.57.
Also rising a tenth of a percent were the insurance stocks (934.05) and most of the technology index (299.76). Leading the gainers were the oil and gas issues at 1,196.36, up .14 percent. The biomed stocks declined .19 percent to 727.50, while the bank index declined .33 percent to 925.80, lowering the financial institutions .18 percent to 844.21. The real estate stocks opened at 276.86, down .06 percent, while the communications and media index fell .41 percent to 656.28.
