The Tzohar rabbinical organization announced, Sunday, that it will be holding 150 services, Wednesday evening, when most of the country reads the Book of Esther for Purim (the Feast of Esther). All those in attendance will receive a deluxe copy of the book. The special services will take place in big cities, such as Tel Aviv and Haifa, as well as kibbutzim and smaller communities.
The observances are in conjunction with a giant campaign, organized with the ZAKA disaster-assistance organization, in which hareidi-religious Jews will exchange Mishloach Manot food baskets with secular Jews. Hundreds of requests to give and receive have been received at the campaign's hotline (*9515 in Israel).
