Kommemiyut: Time for 'Arrangements' is Long Over

The Kommemiyut organization on Sunday sharply criticized a letter of gratitude the Yesha Council had sent earlier to government minister Benny Begin. The letter thanked Begin for his efforts in arranging for a deal to move residents of Migron from their current homes to an area nearly a kilometer away.

Kommemiyut said in response to the letter that the deal was opposed to the spirit of settlement in Judea and Samaria, which “is built on a mixture of vision and realism. The realism is an understanding that the system of 'arrangements' is a thing of the past, and that we are now at the stage of important decisions about all of Judea and Samaria. The only segment of Israeli society that does not yet accept the future of Judea and Samaria is the court system, which is used as a tool to design a state that is not acceptable to most Israelis. In this instance we must bring the decisions they made back to the Knesset, where the people will decide, and not to come up with 'arrangements' that accept the basic view of the courts, which is a leftist view,” the organization said.
