Putin: Stop Supporting Syrian Rebels

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin pressed Western countries, Friday, to stop supporting the opposition in Syria and to demand that it negotiate its demands with the Damascus government. He said the West's refusal to do so was making the situation in Syria more dangerous.

Interviewed by the Times of London, Thursday, Putin denied that Russia had a special relationship with the Damascus government. He added, "We only have an interest in a solution to the conflict."
