Member of Knesset Meir Sheetrit (Kadima) intends to call for a vote, Wednesday, on a bill to cancel the excise tax on gasoline. The cancellation would translate to a half-shekel saving per liter.

MK Sheetrit said, "If the government wants to tax citizens, it should do so in a transparent manner and be ready to take the public criticism. Indirect taxes hit mainly lower classes and therefore social reform must begin with them."
