An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) unit, on routine operations, Monday evening, along the Israeli-Egyptian border, spotted a number of suspects who had crossed into Israeli territory. When the suspects did not respond to calls to stop, the soldiers shot at the lower parts of their bodies. An exchange of gunfire followed, after which most of the suspects fled back across the border, except for one who was killed in the shooting.
