Speaking Monday, MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) said that he could not understand government minister Benny Begin's insistence on removing the entire Israeli presence from the current site of Migron when the majority of residents move to a new site, several kilometers away.
Eldad said that he does not understand Begin's attitude. According to reports, Begin threatened to raze the entire town unless residents agreed not to have presence in the current site altogether. “Begin would do well to remove from his vocabulary such comments,” Eldad said. “A commitment in advance to destroy the town is against all principles of settlement” that Begin claims to stand for, he added.
