The United States does not believe that Iran is seeking to build nuclear weapons, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. The Times states that a recent U.S. intelligence assessment concluded that Iran stopped its attempts to develop nuclear weapons in 2003.
Iran’s current nuclear program, if continued, would put it in a position to build a weapon, the assessment said.
