Eldad Welcomes Decision on Disengagement Pardons

MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) welcomed Thursday’s decision of the Supreme Court to reject a motion that asked it to strike down a 2010 law pardoning people who broke the law while demonstrating against the 2005 Expulsion from Gaza.

“The Supreme Court rightly stated that the law is designed for a proper purpose, because from the beginning the arrests and indictments against demonstrators were a political persecution,” said Eldad. “The Supreme Court today refrained from adding insult to injury on a crime it himself committed when it refrained from accepting the petitions filed against the disengagement and thus paving the way to crime, destruction and displacement.”
