MK Zuaretz Seeks Hearing on Eshel Case

Member of Knesset Orit Zuaretz (Kadima) submitted a request to the Knesset Secretariat, Thursday, for an urgent meeting of the Knesset's State Control Committee to discuss the functioning of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein and the Civil Service Commission in the sexual harassment case that led to the resignation of Chief of Staff Natan Eshel of the Prime Minister's Office. Rather than conduct a criminal investigation, Weinstein deferred consideration of the case to the Civil Service Commission, which procured the resignation as part of a "plea bargain". Netanyahu said, Wednesday, that he found about about the case through the media instead of in-house.

MK Zuaretz claims that the investigation was not thorough enough and that authorities must check if the plea-bargain process and the sensitive investigation were carried out properly.
