Regavim Stops Illegal Water Drilling in Jordan Valley

The Regavim Movement for protection of state lands went to court, Thursday, to stop squatters from the Palestinian Authority from drilling for water on the grounds of the Jewish community of Masua in the Jordan Valley. The state had moved to oust the Arabs but their removal was delayed by petitions to the Supreme Court.

Despite the illegal nature of their presence, the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria granted the squatters permission to drill for water at Masua. Regavim was called in when the Arabs tried to drill at a different location than the one specified in the permit.
