Moderate to sharp losses were accented during the last hour of trading, Thursday, on most indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The TA Composite index declined 1.64 percent to 988.68, while the TA 100 closed at 999.84, down 1.7 percent, including a 1.82 percent drop to 1,097.61 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Worst hit were the banks stocks, which fell 3.16 percent to 960.07, followed by the insurance index, which closed at 954.80, down 2.85 percent as the financial institutions finished the last day of the trading week at 870.33, down 2.93 percent on the day. Next came the oil and gas issues, which dropped 2.56 percent to 1,209.72, while the communications and media stocks slumped 2.25 percent to 673.85, and the real estate index closed at 279.20, down 1.72 percent. The biomed issues declined 1.47 percent to 722.24, while the rest of the technology index closed at 293.83, down .77 percent.
