Strauss Defends Food Prices, Denies Mark Ups

Zion Balas, the CEO of the Strauss food company denies that their products are cheaper in foreign countries then they are in Israel. In a video statement, Mr. Balas said that Strauss products are at least 20% less expensive in local retailers then they were on foreign shelves. This contrasts with angry shoppers who claimed that candy bars and other Strauss products are at least half the price in the United States as they are locally. Mr. Balas said that out of 180 products exported abroad, about 170 products are sold at a lower cost to retailers in Israel.
