Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman welcomed the Supreme Court decision regarding the Tal Law in an interview Wednesday with IDF radio. His party, Yisrael Beiteinu (Israel Our Home), has always opposed the Tal Law, he noted.
Lieberman called for the creation of a new law that would encourage hareidi-religious men and members of other minority groups to serve in the army. “This isn’t another way to easily bash them [hareidim]. We’re facing many challenges and threats, and what will determine the outcome is not the quantity and quality of our weapons, but the quality of our people and their motivation,” he said.
