At least 65 people were killed in Syria Tuesday in a government assault on opposition forces. The Syrian army used heavy fire in the city of Homs as tanks ringed the area.
Opposition figures in the city said many deaths were the result of shelling. One told Al-Arabiya that “the smell of phosphorous shells is in the air.”
