The Israel Defense Forces' Spokesman reported, Tuesday, that a powerful explosive device was found during a Monday-evening operation to thwart smuggling on the Israeli- Egyptian border. A smuggler detected by an IDF unit was seen throwing away a suspicious bag as he fled. A search in the morning revealed that the bag contained the explosives. The device was detonated in a controlled manner.
