Average Israeli Family 3.74 Members

Ahead of Family Day, the Central Bureau of Statistics released figures indicating the average Israeli family had 3.74 members. There were 1.8 million families in 2010, compared to 1.5 million in 2000.

Half the families consisted of parents and children under the age of 17. About 107,000 families - about six percent of the total - were of the single-parent variety with children under 17, compared to 89,000 a decade earlier.
