The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened slightly higher, Tuesday, in mixed trading. After the first few minutes of trading, the TA Composite index stood at 1,007.44, up .06 percent, while the TA 100 rose .07 percent to 1,019.42, including a two tenths of a percent rise to 1,118.97 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the oil and natural gas stocks, which rose .45 percent to 1,263.50, followed by the communications and media index, which stood at 686.89, up .31 percent. A .19 percent rise to 1,008.61 by the bank issues was offset by a .17 percent decline to 1,038.54 by the insurance index, leaving the financial institutions unchanged at 921.54. The biomed stocks declined .15 percent to 743.72, while the rest of the technology index stood at 296.70, down .26 percent, and the real estate index slipped .18 percent to 286.89
