Activists Oppose National Union/Jewish Home Merger

Field activists for the National Union party have posted a petition on the Internet, calling on the party's Knesset members not to act toward a union with the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party). The petitions note previous attempts to unite the two parties, adding that there are fundamental differences, including diametric oppositions between the two parties, which they view as a positive thing.

Protesting the "factional" label applied to some members of the National Union, the activists view the proposed merger as unnatural and a compromise of their positions, concluding that if such a merger takes place, they will not vote for it.
