The railway workers’ union and the Histadrut labor federation approached the Labor Court in Tel Aviv on Sunday evening, and asked for permission to immediately launch a strike.
The two sides demanded that the Labor Court force the Transportation Ministry to cancel the agreement it signed with the Bombardier Company to put maintenance of the 130 new cars in the company’s hands. The move is being opposed by the Histadrut.
