Government Silence on Memorial Desecration Slammed

Responding to recent vandalism on the roadside memorial at the site where Rabbi Meir Chair of Shavei Shomron was murdered by terrorists, about two years ago, the Shomron (Samaria) Residents' Committee issued a statement, Sunday, that, "As Israel is silent when the memory of its sons is desecrated, it's not surprising that Arab terror raises its head and tries to harm the living and dead. We are sure that anyone who has some integrity and public responsibility will condemn the desecration of the monument".

Motorists on the highway between Shavei-Shomron and Netanya noticed that the memorial had been splattered with red paint and its Israeli flag had been taken off and torn.
