The Rabbi of Kiryat Arba, Rabbi Dov Lior, said on Friday that children are allowed to play in the snow which is expected over Shabbat.
In an interview on Arutz Sheva, Rabbi Lior said that "children should be not prohibited from playin in the snow, because it's not a permanent building and not sustainable. They are allowed to play in it. You can even drink it."
He added that municipal authorities are allowed to clear the main roadways which lead to the hospitals from the snow, but a private individual cannot plow the snow on his doorstep on Shabbat, since "even when it snows a man can lift his legs and reach his home."
