Mayor Nir Barkat of Jerusalem said, Thursday, that the city had completed its preparations for the snow that is forecast for the weekend. Following an inspection of the Snow Preparation Center, he added, "The children of Jerusalem are excited and look forward to getting up Shabbat morning to a white city and we hope they will not be disappointed."

About 50 snow plows, salt throwers and other pieces of heavy equipment will stand at the city's disposal in order to make sure that streets are clear for emergency traffic. A system will be in place for locating special trouble spots.
