Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to sharp losses on Thursday. The TA Composite index declined .74 percent to 999.28, while the TA 100 finished the day at 1,010.26, down .77 percent, including a .79 percent drop to 1,105.21 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Most of the components of the Bluetech technology index rose an average of .01 percent to 298.65, the lone gainers among the common stocks, while the biomed issues declined .78 percent to 759.67. Worst hit were the insurance stocks, which fell 2.51 percent to 1,037.44 as the financial institutions closed at 913.69, down 1.25 percent, including a .67 percent slump by the bank index to 995.92. The communications and media issues finished the day at 674.62, down 1.23 percent and the oil and natural gas stocks declined 1.21 percent to 1,240.04. The real estate index closed at 281.59, down .91 percent.
