Knesset Rejects Expulsion Law Protecting Children
The Knesset has rejected a bill intended to protect the rights of children during the eviction of hilltop communities in Judea and Samaria. The bill was submitted by Member of Knesset Yaakov Katz, head of the National Union Party. Among the proposals in the bill were that forced evictions should not take place between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. the next day as many do. Other stipulations were intended to prevent the possibility of police brutality against minors. 21 Knesset members rejected the bill and 9 supported the bill.
