Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange were down shortly after the opening of Tuesday trading. The TA Composite index stood at 1,006.08, down .13 percent while the TA 100 slipped .15 percent to 1,016.59, including a .19 percent drop to 1,117.35 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the real estate stocks, which rose .37 percent to 286.42, followed by the biomed index, which stood at 765.64, up .32 percent. The rest of the technology stocks declined an average of two tenths of a percent to 291.07. The same percentage drop meant the communications issues stood at 700.89. With the insurance index down .31 percent at 1,048.24 and the bank stocks declining three tenths of a percent to 1015.41, the financial institutions stood at 927.82, down .29 percent. The oil and natural gas issues declined .53 percent to 1,261.57.
