Deputy Knesset Speaker Ofir Akunis, who serves on the Knesset Economics Committee, is initiating an urgent meeting of the ommittee to deal with the railroad strike, started by the workers' committee of the Israel Railways, Monday evening, regarding outsourcing of maintenance of the railroad's rolling stock.
Akunis said, "Israel Railwaysis not the property of the [workers'] committee. It belongs toall citizens ofIsrael.One mustn't havea struggle at the expense ofhundredsof thousands of Israelis."
