Attacks May be Linked to Mughniyeh Anniversary

Sources in the Foreign Ministry and the Shabak Israel Security Agency, which is responsible for security at Israeli diplomatic posts abroad, instructed employees at the installations to be alert as Hizbullah marked the fourth anniversary of the death of arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyeh in a Damascus car bombing. The warning came as police investigated an explosion in or around an Israeli diplomatic car next to the consulate in New Delhi and the defusing of a bomb at the embassy in Tbilisi.

A local employee of the embassy in Georgia left his home and took his children to kindergarten before proceeding to the consulate. During the trip he heard a strange noise and pulled over to the side, discovering  the explosive.

Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam was evacuated following a bomb threat. A police spokesman gave no further details.
